CFO Jimmy Patronis: Victory for Orlando Area Firefighters in Battle Against Cancer
ORLANDO, Fla.— Today, Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and State Fire Marshal Jimmy Patronis was joined by members of the Seminole County fire service community to announce the passage of legislation that provides cancer benefits to Florida’s firefighters. The legislation passed unanimously by the Florida Legislature this year and was signed into law by Governor DeSantis on Friday, May 3, 2019.
CFO and State Fire Marshal Jimmy Patronis said, “I was proud to join the brave men and women of the Seminole County fire service community to applaud the passage of cancer coverage benefits for our firefighters statewide. Firefighters take their job knowing there is danger, but they sign up anyways.
"Thank you to the Florida Legislature and Governor Ron DeSantis for supporting this vital piece of legislation and for standing up for our firefighters. This legislation proves to our firefighters that Florida has their back. ”
