On Monday, I was proud to join Governor Ron DeSantis for the signing of Proyecto de Ley del Senado 72, which provides liability protections related to COVID-19 for Florida businesses and health care providers. For nearly a year, I have been fighting for COVID-19 liability protections and made it my mission to ensure liability protections were passed this legislative session.

This is a HUGE WIN for Floridians and a step in the right direction to protect our businesses, job creators, and health care heroes. By passing this significant legislation, the Governor and Legislature have stepped up to give businesses the confidence they have needed to keep their doors open and continue to serve their communities.

On Thursday, April Fools Day, I reminded Floridians to be on guard for fraudsters looking to fool you into a financial scam. While I like a good April Fools joke, falling victim to fraud is no laughing matter. Scammers are constantly using new tricks to steal your hard-earned money, but the best defense is to know the warning signs of a scam before you fall victim. Always verify before you buy to ensure a product or service is legitimate, monitor your bank accounts for suspicious activity, and always closely guard your personal and financial information. If you feel you have been the victim of fraud, report it immediately at FraudFreeFlorida.com.

Lastly, Good Friday and the Easter weekend is an important time for many families across Florida. I hope that everyone has a blessed Good Friday and very happy Easter.
