Floridians,
On Friday, we celebrated the life of Coach Bobby Bowden. Coach leaves behind a legacy that transcends sports. He is a Florida and national treasure, a kind soul with a warrior’s heart, and there will never be another like him. My condolences go out to his beautiful wife, Ann and the entire Bowden family.
On Wednesday, I had the opportunity to join Fox and Friends FIRST to talk about how President Biden and the White House are obsessed with Governor DeSantis and should be more focused on doing their jobs.
On Monday, I announced that in July we returned more than $43 million in unclaimed property back to the pockets of Floridians. Since becoming CFO, I made it my mission to return every cent of unclaimed property back to its rightful owners. There’s an estimated one in five chance that you or a family member has money just waiting to be claimed, free-of-charge. It only takes a few minutes to search for unclaimed property and I encourage individuals and business owners to search right now at FLTreasureHunt.gov.
Finally, I urged Floridians to prepare for inclement weather as Tropical Depression Fred takes aim at the Sunshine State. It is my top priority to ensure Floridians have the tools and resources they need to prepare for the possibility of tropical storm winds hitting our state this weekend. Floridians know all too well the devastation hurricanes can have on their lives and we must take this threat seriously. As we saw with Hurricane Michael, hurricanes can form and strengthen quickly, leaving little time to prepare and evacuate. The time is now to prepare and protect your home and business. Heed all watches and warnings from state and local officials and do not wait until a storm is making landfall.
Atentamente,
