On Monday, I had the opportunity to join Governor Ron DeSantis, Attorney General Ashley Moody, and Congresswoman Kat Cammack in Newberry to fight for the rights of Florida’s first responders. Over 90% of Florida’s 38,000 firefighters are EMT, or paramedic certified, and were the tip-of-spear when it came to responding to the pandemic. I've been vaccinated and I believe in the vaccines but the last thing we need is mandates. You will always know what’s better for your health than the Government.

On Wednesday, I celebrated the start of Mes de la Herencia Hispana. I’m proud to honor Hispanic-Americans and their significant contributions to our state’s rich diversity and economic success. I’m also incredibly thankful for our Hispanic-American’s who serve as first responders throughout or state and work tirelessly to keep our communities safe. Additionally, this week, I also recognized Truck Driver Appreciation Week. From operating throughout the pandemic to ensuring citizens have the necessary supplies during hurricane season, truck drivers help keep our state moving forward. Every day you serve the citizens and businesses of Florida. Thank you, Florida truck drivers!

Lastly, to every Floridian who observed Yom Kippur, may you and those you hold dear be inscribed for a happy, healthy and peaceful new year.

Have a great weekend.
