I’m fed up with the Biden Administration’s war against COVID treatments. I’ve got around 2,000 employees I am responsible for, and as the state’s Fire Marshal I help support Florida’s 45,000 firefighters. For some reason the Biden Administration is vaccine and masking obsessed. I like vaccines too! I got mine. But I am seeing a lot of breakthrough cases by people who love the mask and got the shot. So, on Wednesday, I filed several Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests to federal agencies on why they won’t make monoclonal treatments more available to Florida. If they’re conspiring to hold back lifesaving drugs, we’ll find out.

Late Tuesday evening, I issued a carta to Florida Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (FLHSMV) Director Terry Rhodes regarding the development of digital insurance verification for licensed Florida drivers. In the letter, I discussed the benefits of working with FLHSMV to craft legislation to implement electronic verification where it can interface seamlessly to FLHSMV’s digital driver’s license project already in process.

Lastly, in recognition of January as Mes del Bienestar Financiero, I encouraged Floridians to take steps to secure their financial future by prioritizing saving in 2022. The beginning of a new year is the perfect time to conduct a financial checkup and outline your savings goals and commit to putting money aside for retirement, college tuition or in an emergency fund. This new year, make it a priority to put money aside and watch your nest egg grow!
