Department Revokes Fort Pierce Agent’s License
10/25/2002
FORT PIERCE-The Florida Department of Insurance has revoked the license of agent Morris Morgan, 31, of Fort Pierce for failing to remit insurance premiums paid by consumers to the insurance company.
According to a complaint filed by the department's Bureau of Agent and Agency Investigations, Morgan kept more than $5,000 in premiums for his personal use. The appointed insurance company, Monumental Life Insurance Company, never collected the premiums paid by Morgan's customers.
Agents who fail to remit premium funds jeopardize their consumers' insurance coverage.
Morgan was licensed as a life, health and annuities agent. His license is revoked for a period of two years.
