CFO Jimmy Patronis: Take Advantage of the 2019 Back-to-School Sales Tax Holiday
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Jimmy Patronis is reminding Floridians to take advantage of the
2019 Back-to-School Sales Tax Holiday starting Friday, August 2, 2019 and running through Tuesday, August 6, 2019.
CFO Jimmy Patronis said, “Nationally, the average family shopping for K-12 students is
expected to reach nearly $700. As we near the start of a new school year in the Sunshine State, I encourage Floridians to take full advantage of the 2019 Back-to-School Sales Tax Holiday this weekend to stock up on new school clothes, certain supplies, and technology items up to $1,000. Don’t miss out on this great opportunity for back to school savings."
During the sales tax holiday,
qualifying items will be exempt from tax including: certain school supplies selling for $15 or less per item; and clothing, footwear, and certain accessories selling for $60 or less per item; and computers and certain accessories selling for $1,000 or less per item, when purchased for noncommercial home or personal use.
